Lyle Galland

Lyle Galland, 85, Craig, a retired longtime businessman, died Friday (June 15, 1990) at Floyd Valley Hospital in LeMars after an extended illness. He had been a Craig barber for over 50 years.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Craig with Rev. Beth Graham officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation began at 2 p.m. Monday with the family present from 7-8 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Fuenral Home in LeMars.

He was born Dec. 18, 1904, in Salix to Willis and Emma Hoever Galland. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical (Lutheran) Church in Craig. His marriage to Mildred Casler took place June 4, 1928. Mrs. Galland died in 1964.

Survivors are his son, David and wife, Ann Galland of Poquoson, Va.; a grandson, David Galland, Jr.; a great-granddaughter; two sisters, Bernice Dennison of Sioux City and Alta Huby of Vermillion and nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his parents; three brothers and two sisters.
