William Fidelis Heissel

William F. Heissel, 79, rural Merrill, died Saturday, Sept. 12, at Floyd Valley hospital.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church, Merrill, with Rev. James fi. Fangman officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Luken-Johnson funeral home. Rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

He was born April 14, 1891, at Newell, a son of the late Fidelis and Barbara Sitzman Heissel. He married Elizabeth L. Mayrose April 12, 1912, at Alton. She died Dec. 24, 1969. Mr. Heissel was a lifelong farmer in the Merrill area.

Survivors are three sons, William H., Francis and Cyril J., all of LeMars; four daughters, Mrs. Orville (Luella) Baack of LeMars, Mrs. Vincent (Olivia) Muir of Remsen, Mrs. Archie (Elizabeth) Singer of Merrill and Mrs. John (Mary) Lihudis of Seattle, Wash.; four sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Groetken and Mrs. Catherine Lewis, both of LeMars, Mrs. Matilda Mayrose of Del Rapids, S. D., and Mrs. Louise Kamp of Sioux City, 27 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
