Orville Baack,52, dies at hospital

Orville W. Baack, 52, longtime Le Mars resident, died Sunday morning at St. Luke hospital after a brief illness. He was a longtime salesman for Nu Way Drug Co.

Mr. Baack was born Aug. 14, 1918, at Ireton the son of Eldo and Isabelle (Thomas) Baack.

He had entered the hospital after suffering a fractured hip while working in eastern Iowa.

His marriage to Luella Heissel took place at Merrill, Sept. 19, 1939. He was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Le Mars and was a world war 1 veteran.

Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. James church with Rev. John Turza officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of the Luken-Johnson funeral home. The parish rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Survivors are his wife, Le Mars; a son, Ronald Baack, Storm Lake; a brother Emory Baack, Milford, and three sisters, Connie Baker, Merrill, Mrs. Wayne (Oina) Vander Feen, Ireton, and Mrs. Virgil (Patricia) Tammen, Farmer City, Illinois.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
