Mrs Chas. Sauer Taken By Death

Member of Well Known Family

Mrs. Sauer, 54, wife of Charles A. Sauer, died Thursday night (April 27, 1939) at the hospital in Akron following an illness of two months.

Mrs. Sauer, formerly Mary Coffey, came to LeMars when a girl with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Coffey, and while living here was married to Charles Sauer in 1910. He was engaged in the meat market business in LeMars.

After their marriage they lived at Yakima, Wash, for seven years and at Mobridge, S. D., for four years. They moved back to Iowa and have lived in this vicinity since, moving recently to Akron. Mrs. Sauer was born at Schaller, Iowa, October 22, 1884.

She is survived by her husband, C. A. Sauer, a daughter, Madeline, employed with the General Electric company at Bridgeport, Conn., and a son, Karl, a student at the University of Iowa, three brothers and four sisters, James Coffey, of Madison, Wis., P. J. Coffey, of Minneapolis, Minn., John Coffey, of Sioux City, Mrs. P. J. Moran, of LeMars, Sister M. Perpetua, of Chadron, Neb.; Mrs. F. R. Desparois and Miss Leona Coffey, of Sioux City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Thomas, who died recently, and a brother and sister who died in infancy.

The funeral was held Saturday morning at St. James Church, Rev. Father L. J. Cooper officiating and interment made in St. James cemetery.

The pall bearers were John Earnest, Frank Hentges, R. J. Joynt, John T. Keenan, D. J. Lenihan and Ray Tentinger.
