Fred J. Harms

Fred J. Harms, 96, lifelong Plymouth County resident died Wednesday, Sept. 3, 1997, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars, Iowa.

Services were held Monday, Sept. 8 at Christ Lutheran Church, Grant Township in rural Le Mars with the Rev. Pete Boe officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Harms was born April 30, 1901, at the family farm in Washington Township, the son of John and Katharina (Rewerts) Harms. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Baulah Harms of Hawarden, Iowa; two sisters, Hilda Hams and Theresa Engel of Le Mars; a sister-in-law, Rita Harms of Le Mars: 11 nephews: and nine nieces.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Jurgen in infancy, Carl, Alfred and Donald; and two sisters, Meta Eilers and Kathryn Castensen.
