LOCAL OCCURRENCE:DIED
Mrs. William Kellen died at her home in America township on Saturday
evening of appendicitis, aged forty two years and four months. She
leaves a husband and six children to mourn her loss. The funeral will
be held this morning at ten o'clock at St. Joseph's church in this city.Mrs. Kellen was a long time resident of this county having lived here
for the past twenty five years. Her maiden name was Lena Werner and she
was a native of Coblentz, Germany. She was highly respected among a
large number of friends who mourn her early death.
Her husband is a brother of the Kellen boys of Alton vicinity. Those who sent from here to the funeral were Matt and Carmel Kellen and their wives, Pete Hansen and wife, Misses Johanna Kellen and Emma Reith. From Granville there went Pete Kellen and wife and Gregg Penning and Pete Reith. The party was joined here also by Dominick Kellen and wife of Adrian, Minnesota, who went along.
