WILLIAM GALE IS CALLED BY DEATH

Rites For Well Known Akron Man Are Held Thursday Morning

William Gale, 75, long-time resident of this vicinity, passed away in Le Mars, Iowa, Tuesday morning, January 27, 1942, at 8:30 o'clock, from the effects of a stroke which he suffered about two weeks before.

William Gale was born in Galena, Illinois, a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gale, Sr. In 1879, with his parents he moved to Le Mars, Iowa, near where they resided for a number of years on a farm. Later he came to Akron, where he has made his home, and for a number of years was employed by Dick and Wm. Bohlken.

Mr. Gale was a single man. He was an honest, upright and industrious citizen, and he will be missed by his numerous friends in the community where he spent so many years. His death is mourned by his two brothers, James Gale, of Beresford, S. D., and John Gale, of Akron; also by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held this (Thursday) morning at 9 o'clock in St. Patrick's Catholic church in Akron, Rev. Father Charles Ernst officiating.

Pallbearers were Orville Gale, Francis Gale, Jack Gale, Robert Gale, Raymond Gibbons and Theodore Burnight. Interment was in St. James cemetery, Le Mars, beside his parents. Wiltgen's, of Le Mars, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
