Death of Mrs. Hennessey.
Mrs. Hennessey died at her home on Howard Street, on Tuesday morning at three o’clock. She had been in poor health for some time and her death was due to a general breaking down of the system.
The funeral was held on Wednesday morning at St. James’ church, Rev. Father O’Farrell officiating, and was attended by many old friends and neighbors of the family.
Hannah Sweeney was born in county Cork, Ireland seventy years ago last June and came to the United States with her mother, when a young girl. She was married to Maurice Hennessey in Dubuque forty eight years ago and four children blessed their union. The two sons, Edward and Maurice live in Le Mars, and the two daughters Mrs. Michael Gleason, and Mrs. Nellie Bliss at Akron. The with the aged father mourn the loss of a good wife and mother.
Mr. and Mrs. Hennessey came to Plymouth county twenty six years ago and until two years ago lived on the old homestead in Preston township. From there they moved to Westfield township and came to Le Mars last spring.
Mrs. Hennessey was well known to all the old settlers in the northwest part of the county and was much beloved and respected for her kindly bearing and neighborliness.
