ELDA WIENER
Elda Wiener, 83, of Le Mars died Tuesday October 13, 1998, at St. Luke’s Regional Medical center in Sioux City. Elda Louisa Anna Wiener was born June 22, 1915, on the family farm in Woodbury County, Iowa, the daughter of Herbert and Katherine (Casper) Ludwig. She grew up in rural Plymouth County and attended county school. On February 2, 1936, she married Albert Wiener at Trinity Lutheran Church rural Hinton. The couple had farmed in Lincoln and Stanton Townships. Mr. Wiener died May 22, 1967. Elda continued to live on the farm until January 19, 1996, when she became a resident of the Brentwood Good Samaritan Center in Le Mars. She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Le Mars and enjoyed cooking, embroidering and crafts. Survivors include seven sons, Darrell Wiener and his wife Janet, Earnest Wiener, Michael Wiener, and Randy Wiener, all of Hinton, Thomas Wiener and his wife Doris of Humboldt, Amold Wiener and his wife Kelly of Schaller, Leland Wiener of Fort Dodge, six daughter Glenda Wiener, Marylyn Muecke and her husband Donald, and Arlene Wiener, all of Le Mars, LaVonne Wiener of Sioux City, Elaine Droegmiller and her husband James of Cushing, Pat Wiener of Rock Rapids,. One brother, Melvin Ludwig and his wife, Elfreda of Merrill. 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren,. She preceded in death by her parents and two sons in infancy, James and Carmen. Funeral services were held at St. John’s Lutheran Church, with burial in Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.
