REVEREND FRED MALONE
The Rev. Charles Fredrick Malone, 62, of Hinton died Tuesday October 27, 1998, at a Sioux City Hospital. Services were held at Hinton United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Arnold Herbst and the Rev. Darlene BalmDemmel officiating. Burial was in Atlantic City Cemetery Atlantic Iowa. The Rev. Mr. Malone was born June 14, 1936, in Atlantic the son of Claude and Florence (Durr) Malone. He was raised in Atlantic and graduated from Atlantic High School in 1954. He married Sara Vawter on September 22, 1957, in Atlantic. He received his education from Iowa Western Community College, Iowa State University and St. Paul School of Theology. In 1980 he became an ordained minister in the United Methodist Church. He served as co-pastor in Mew Market, Gus, Shambaugh and Braddyville Iowa from 1981 to 1988. From 1988 to 1995, he served Farmington United Methodist Church and Bonaparte United Methodist Church. He was currently serving Merrill First United Methodist Church and Adaville United Methodist Church. He served as president of the Atlantic Chamber of Commerce and as a master sergeant with Iowa National Guard for several years was a past president of Iowa Seed Dealers Association and served on the board of Iowa Feed and Grain. Survivors include his wife, two sons and their wives, Craig and Judy of Ontario Canada, and Chris and Dee of Sterling, Nebraska, a daughter, Catie Malone of Merrill Iowa, his mother of Warseka, Illinois, a brother and his wife, Drs. Carl and June of New Berlin, Wisconsin, four grandsons, Curtis, Connor, Colby, and Ceaton Malone,. He preceded in death by his father.
