Anna M. Frerichs

Anna M. Frerichs, 85, of Winston- Salem, N.C., formerly of Le Mars, died Wednesday (June 6, 1984) in a hospital in Winston-Salem.

Mrs. Frerichs moved to North Carolina six years ago to live with her daughter, LaVonne Johnsen.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. John's American Lutheran Church in Le Mars. Rev. William Striepe will officiate. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, rural Le Mars. The prayer service will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Frerichs, the former Anna M. Dirks, was born Feb. 4, 1899, in Plymouth County to John and Marie Borchers Dirks. She married Dick Frerichs Feb. 16,1919, rural Le Mars. They were lifelong Plymouth County residents. He died in 1981.

Mrs. Frerichs was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.

Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Elmer (LaVonne) Johnsen of Winston-Salem ; two brothers, Henry and Walt, both of Akron; two sisters, Marie Hunter of Woodward, Okla. and Minnie Downing of Bayonne, N.J.; two half sisters, Tena Marienau and Marie Albright, both of Le Mars; five grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, George Frerichs in 1975; four brothers and one sister.
