Mrs. Geo. Kehrberg

Mrs. Leah R. Kehrberg of Merrill passed away at the Sacred Heart hospital on May 27, after a sickness of several years. She was 68 years of age.

Leah Schrooten was born July 15, 1884 in Stanton township. She lived in Stanton township until her marriage, then moved to her present home where she lived for the past 44 years. Leah Schrooten and George Kehrberg were married December 18, 1908 at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Schrooten.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 1952 at 1:30 p.m. at Mauer’s Funeral home and at 2:00 p.m. at the Merrill Methodist church and burial will be in Stanton township cemetery, under direction of Mauer Funeral home. Rev. D. E. Streyfeller will officiate.

Survivors include her husband, George Kehrberg; a son, Lowell Kehrberg, of Merrill; 2 daughters, Wilma Wast of Los Angeles, Calif., and Laudable Mack of Omaha, Nebraska; 3 brothers, Ralph Schrooten of Arnold Park, Ia., George Schrooten of Hinton, and Harry Schrooten of LeMars; 2 sisters, Mrs. Herman Kortemeyer of Salem, Oregon and Mrs. Charles Begg of LeMars; also 4 grandchildren.

The deceased was preceded in death by an infant son, her parents and one brother, Henry. She was a member of the First Methodist church of Merrill; the WSCS and A Gold Star Member of the Legion auxiliary. She was also a charter member of the Tuesday Club.

Many Attend Rites For Mrs. Kehrberg

A host of relatives and friends gathered last Friday afternoon in the Methodist Church to pay their final tribute of respect to a lifelong Christian and friend, Mrs. George Kehrberg. The many beautiful flowers and generous memorials were a symbol of the high esteem in which she was held. The Rev. D.E. Streyfeller conducted the services.

Pallbearers were old friends and neighbors: A.W. Knapp, Albert Lang, Bob Miller, Lester Donlin, Eldon Danne and Dick Pech. The Tuesday Club of which she was a charter member attended in a body. Mrs. Clifford Kress, Mrs. Earl Schindel and Mrs. Ernest Frehs provided the music. Interment was in the Stanton Cemetery.

Many relatives and friends from a distance attended the services. Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Haug and Miss Betty Haug, West Bend, Wis., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Schrooten, Arnolds Park, Iowa, Arnold Prechken, Minneapolis, Minn.

Miss Hilda Peschken and Peter Preschken, Norwood, Minn., Miss Lizzie Peschken, Olivia, Minn., Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Schrooten, Mr. and Mrs. Orlando Schrooten, Mrs. Walter Salmonson, Miss Clara Schrooten and Arnold Schrooten all of Odeboldt, Iowa.

Frank Ward, Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Ward, Wakonda, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Tice, Centerville, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Ted Otten, Humboldt, S.D., Mr. and Mrs. Junior Nurum, Council Bluffs, Iowa.
