Funeral services for Dennis Kennedy, 40, former LeMars resident, will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the United Church, Sheldon, with burial at Sheldon, Iowa. A prayer service will be held from 7 to 8:30 Friday at the Vander Ploeg Funeral home, Sheldon.

Dennis died Tuesday, Jan. 8, 1974, at a Sioux Falls hospital following surgery. He had entered the hospital the day after Christmas.

He was born Dec. 21, 1933, at Seney, Iowa. After graduation in 1952 from LeMars highschool, he served in the army and lived near Storm Lake, Iowa. He had lived at Sheldon for about 15 years and was employed as a postal clerk there.

Surviving are his wife, the former Jeanette Hickey of LeMars; three children, Rick of South Sioux City, Nebr., Kathy, a student at Northwestern College, Orange City, and Connie at home; his mother, Mrs. Mabel Kennedy, LeMars, and a sister, Mrs. Doris Hauser, Akron.
