Mrs. Emilie Jacobs

Mrs. Emilie Jacobs, 95, longtime LeMars resident, died Sunday night at her home at 305 Third Ave. NW, after a 1- month illness.

Emilie Becker, the daughter of Gottfried and Margarete Haneman Becker, was born March 6, 1875, in Germany. She came to the United States at the age of 15 years and retired to LeMars in 1927.

She married John Jacobs March 6, 1896, in Preston township. Rev. James A. Sandvik will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery under direction of the Mauer funeral home,

Mrs. Jacobs was a lifelong member of St. John Evangelical Lutheran church, Preston township. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1966 and a daughter; her parents; three sisters and three brothers.

Survivors are two sons, Fred and Gert Jacobs, both of LeMars; a daughter, Mrs. William B. (Johanna) Borchers, LeMars; eight grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
