John Jacobs, 92, Rites Set Friday at Preston Church

Funeral services for John I. Jacobs, 92, longtime LeMars resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. John Evangelical Lutheran church, Preston township. Rev. Conrad Guetzlaff will officiate

Burial will be in the church cemetery at rural Akron under the direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Mr. Jacobs, who resided at 305 Third Ave. NW, died at his home early Thursday after several months illness.

He was born Oct. 31, 1873, in Preston township. His marriage to Adele Emilie Becker took place March 6, 1896, in Preston township. He was the son of the late Friedrich and Margaretha Jacobs.

Survivors are two sons, Fred of rural Akron and Gert of rural LeMars; a daughter, Mrs. William (Johanna) Borchers, LeMars; eight grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter and a sister.

Mr. Jacobs was a member of St. John Lutheran church, Preston township.
