PHOEBE BERNICE PATRICK

RALSTON, Iowa—Phoebe Bernice Patrick, 76, of Ralston, died Monday in a hospital at Carroll.

Mrs. Patrick, the former Phoebe Bernice Morehead, was born July 30, 1909, on her parents farm in Plymouth County, near Akron. She was educated in the rural school near Adaville.

She married Thomas Nelson Patrick on August 29, 1929, in LeMars, and the couple made their first home on a farm near Cleghorn. They later lived at Meriden and Pierson before moving to Ralston in 1938. The family operated Ralston Grocery Store for 41 years before retirement. Mr. Patrick died Dec. 2, 1977.

She was a member of Affiliated Ralston Women’s Club and Ralston Birthday Club.

Survivors include one son, Thomas of Jefferson; two daughters, Ila Jubell of Scranton, and Beverly Bishop of Jefferson; two brothers, Vernon Morehead, of LeMars, and Lloyd Morehead of Akron; four sisters, Mrs. Sanford (Marie) Hinzman and Ivy Jennings, both of LeMars, Mrs. Elmer (Gertrude) Brown of Merrill, and Vera Wright, of Sioux City; 10 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

Services were Thursday at Hastings Funeral Home in Jefferson with burial in Dillavou Cemetery in Greene County.
