Florence C. Murray, 84, Sheldon, a former longtime LeMars school teacher, died Monday (Aug. 31, 1981) in a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in St. Patrick Catholic church, Sheldon. Rev. Thomas Donahoe will officiate. Burial will be in St. Patrick cemetery.
The rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. Wednesday by the Legion of Mary, at 7:30 p.m. by the guild and at 8 p.m. by the parish at Vander Ploeg funeral home.
Miss Murray was born Oct. 2, 1896, at Sheldon. She graduated from the Sheldon High school and received a B A degree from the University of Northern Iowa.
She taught school for a period of 48 years at various places including: Archer, Emmetsburg, Spencer, and LeMars. Most of the time was spent in LeMars. She retired in 1965.
Miss Murray was a member of St. Patrick Catholic church, St. Patrick council of Catholic Women, and the National Retired Teachers Assn. She was a charter member of the Sheldon Historical Society and was an associate member of the Legion of Mary.
Survivors are one brother, Attorney E. P. Murray of LeMars, and two sisters, Ethel and Pauline both of Sheldon.
