Lowell R. Day

LeMars, Iowa -- Lowell R. Day, 72, of LeMars died Saturday, July 18, 1992,
at a Sioux City hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist church in LeMars
with the Rev. Gordon Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial
Cemetery, LeMars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family
present 7-8:30 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home, LeMars.

Mr. Day was born April 19, 1920, in Hawarden, Iowa, the son of Ross and
Florence (Crouse) Day. He graduated from LeMars Community High School in
1939 and Sioux City Barber College in 1940. He served with the U.S. Marines
during World War II. On March 30, 1941, he married Margaret Kaiser in
LeMars. He owned and operated Day's Barber Shop in LeMars for 46 years
until his recent retirement.

Survivors include his wife; two sons and their wives, Lowell Lynn Day and
Carol, stationed with the Armed Forces in Panama City, Panama, and Randy Lee
Day and Diane of Kingsley; six grandchildren, Angela and her husband Walter
Willingham of Kentucky, Daniel Day of College Station, Texas, Jeremy and
Andrew Day of Panama City and Stephanie and Brandon Day of Kingsley; and
three nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Ivan and Lyle.
