John "Lee" Becker

LeMars, Iowa -- John "Lee" Becker, 75, of LeMars, died Sunday June 16, 1991,
at his home after a short illness.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. John's American Lutheran
Church in LeMars, with the Rev. David Kramer officiating. Burial will be in
LeMars Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with a
prayer service at 7:30 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in LeMars.

Mr. Becker was born Feb. 6, 1916, in Union township, the son of John E. and
Ethel (Franklin) Becker. As a boy, he played in a band with his father for
dances. On Aug. 29, 1939, he married Lorena Christophersen at LeMars. He
farmed in the LeMars area until six years ago, when he retired. Mr. Becker
was a member of St. John's American Lutheran Church.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter and her husband, Linda and George
Siggins, of Rippon, Calif.; two sons and their wives, John and Dianne Becker
and Jay and Kim Becker, all of LeMars; a sister, Evelyn Sitzmann, of
Kingsley, Iowa; and seven grandchildren, Aaron, Justin, Corey, Matthew, and
Kellie Becker and Sara and Sally Siggins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
