GEORGE HAWKINS

George Walter Hawkins, 73, Floyd Valley Apartments, LeMars, died Tuesday
(April 24, 1979) at Floyd Valley hospital, LeMars, after a brief illness.
He had been hospitalized one day.

Mr. Hawkins was born May 8, 1905, in Woodbury county to George and Hannah
Boom Hawkins. He was a farm laborer and a veteran of world war 1.

He moved to Sioux township in 1907 and made his home with his mother until
her death, moving to LeMars in 1958. He moved to the new Floyd Valley
apartments five weeks ago.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harry in 1978 and by a
sister Lela in 1979.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Mauer funeral chapel with
Rev. J. Milton Kinney officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Valley
cemetery, Adaville, under direction of the Mauer funeral home.

Survivors are a sister, Hazel Benton, Clarksville, Iowa; two nieces and four
nephews.
