Ira L. Hoffman, 78, Elk Point, died Jan. 22, 1977 in a Sioux City hospital after an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Jan. 25 in the Schroeder funeral home, Akron. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Akron.

Mr. Hoffman was born March 9, 1898, in Akron. He married Louise Strand July 4, 1923, in Elk Point. She died in February of 1964. He married
Lillian Christy, Dec. 28, 1973 in Elk Point. He farmed in the Akron area most of his life until he retired in 1963, when he moved to Elk Point.

Survivors include the widow four sons, Harry of Akron, Elmer of Lawton, and Jerry and Ronald, both of Elk Point; a daughter, Mrs. Wayne (Arlene) Radtke of Akron; three stepdaughters, Mrs. Jean Foote of Phillips, Nebr.", Mrs. Doris Jensen of Sioux City and Mrs. Bernice Donovan of Hawaiian Gardens, Calif.; 23 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Elmer Petty and George Hoffman, both of Akron; and two sisters, Mrs. Ceclia Hunnel of Orange, Calif., and Mrs. Delia Waterbury of Hawarden.

Pallbearers were: Gordon Radtke, David Hoffman, Paul McFarland, Kenneth McMillan, Larry Wolfe, Jerry Hanson and Timothy Foote.
