Alvord C. Banks, 80, of rural Westfield, died Saturday (April 14, 1984) on his farm of an apparent heart attack.

Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 17 in the Westfield Congregational Church. The Rev. Lester Norton officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery at Akron, under the direction of the Schroeder funeral home of Akron.

Pallbearers were James Buryanek, Lou Conway, Tom Martin, David Lilly, Jr., Ed Tracy, and Joe Birkley.

Mr. Banks was born Oct. 6, 1903, near Milnerville. He married Evelyn Lilly, July 9, 1927. She died June 6, 1976. Mr. Banks was a lifelong farmer in the Westfield area.

Survivors include one son, Donald of Westfield; two sisters, Vera Banks, and Mrs. Roy (Marian) Postlewait, both of Westfield; six brothers, Belmer, Wurth, Emmet, Lloyd and Arden Banks, all of Westfield and Orel Banks of Akron; six grandchildren Sheryl and Carey Banks, Mrs. Becky Muir, Kirk, Timm, and Eric Banks, and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Ross and Joseph Banks, one son Roger and one great-granddaughter, Brenda.
