Mrs. Alvord Banks, 74, Westfield, died Sunday, June 6, 1976 at the Akron Hospital after a year long illness.

Services were held Wednesday, June 9 at the Westfield Congregational Church in Westfield. The Rev. Sherman Tidball officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery.

The former Evelyn J. Lilly was born March 26, 1902 on a farm near Westfield, Iowa and resided in the vicinity all her life. She was a graduate of Morningside College and taught school in the local area several years. July 9, 1927 she and Alvord Banks were united in marriage. She was very active in community activities. With an avid interest in youth, she enjoyed working and. playing with them, such as, directing plays and chaperoning church groups. She was a member of the Westfield Congregational Church and had served in many capacities within it. Evelyn was a frequent visitor to the shut-ins in the community.

Survivors include the widower, Alvord; a son, Donald; 6 grandchildren and 2 great granddaughters, all of Westfield; two sisters, Mrs. Lloyd Crouch and Mrs. Jim Mansfield of Westfield. A son, Roger, preceded her in death.

Pallbearers were Donald Banks, Carey Banks, Kirk Banks, Timm Banks, Eric Banks, and Jim Buryanek.
