Lloyd G. "John" Banks, 78, of Westfield died Monday, June 20, 1994, at rural Westfield as the result of a farm accident.
Services were held Thursday, June 23, 1994 at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel in Sioux City with the Rev. Fred Gums, pastor of Le Mars Bible Church officiating. Burial was in Logan Park Cemetery, Sioux City.
Mr. Banks was born April 22, 1916, in Sioux City. He grew up in the Westfield area and was a lifelong area farmer. He married Annabelle Behrens Sept. 28, 1940, in Sioux City. Mr. Banks had a lifelong interest in 4-H Clubs.
Survivors include his wife; four sons and their wives, Gary Banks and Charlene of Colorado Springs, Colo., State Sen. Brad Banks and Carla of Westfield, Jules Banks and Pam of Westfield and Iven Banks and Karen of Westfield; two daughters, Linda Payton and her husband, John of Urbandale and Lesa Banks of Westfield; a daughter-in-law, Kathy Joseph and her husband, Bill of Alcester, S.D.; five brothers, Orel, Belmer, Wurth and Arden all of Westfield, and Emmett of Sioux City; a sister, Marian Postlewait of Westfield; 16 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Ronald; a daughter, Norma Jean; a granddaughter, Terri; six brothers; and a sister.
Pallbearers were grandsons, Shawn, Sherwyn, Shane, Brock, Tyson and Chad Banks.
