Genevieve Fickbohm, 86, Akron, died Sunday, Oct. 18, 1992 at a Sioux City hospital of a long illness.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron. Rev. Fred Penner officiated. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery in Akron.

Pallbearers were Delane Fickbohm, Linden Fickbohm, Craig Fickbohm, Mark Fickbohm, Curtis Fickbohm, and Harvey Van Ballegooyen.

Mrs. Fickbohm was born June 14, 1906 ,in Akron, Iowa, the daughter of Florence Christensen. She married Elmer Fickbohm March 15, 1934 in Nebraska. He died in November 1987. She was a former school teacher in Iowa and South Dakota for many years. She also worked for several doctors in the Akron area.

Mrs. Fickbohm was a member of the First Baptist church in Akron, where whe was organist and taught Sunday school for many years. She was a resident of the Akron Center.

Survivors include four sisters-in-law, Mrs. Vernon (Florence) Fickbohm of Burbank, S.D., Mrs. Arnold (Eda) Peterson, and Leona Erichsen both of Alcester; Mrs. Sylvester (Arlene) Fickbohm of San Raefael, Calif.; two brothers-in- law Lester Fickbohm of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and Art Ludwigs, two cousins, Kenneth Spittle of Hendricks, Minn, and Lester Christensen of Riverside, Calif.
