Duane F. "Bud" Lauters, 65, of Fresno, Calif., a former Adaville area resident, died Sept. 22, 1992. The funeral mass was held Sept. 25, in Sacred Heart church, 2140 N. Cedar in Fresno. Internment was in the Clovis Cemetery.

Mr. Lauters, a native of Volga, S.D. lived with his parents in the Adaville area until age 14 when they moved to San Diego, Calif. He graduated from Grossmont High School in La Mesa, Calif. He was a veteran of the U.S. navy having served in Guam. He graduated from Fresno State College with a BA in criminology in 1950, and was an alumni member of the National Fraternity Delta Sigma Phi. He was a 33 year veteran of Fresno county sheriff's department, retiring in 1983 as assistant sheriff.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Shirley (Koplin) Lauters of Fresno; a son, Stuart Lauters of Sacramento; a daughter, Kim Hansen of Fresno; a granddaughter, Ashlie Hansen; also of Fresno; one sister, Patricia Morehead of San Diego.
