Clyde W. Buehre, 69, 323 Leonard St., Sioux City, an Akron area native, died Monday, Oct. 19, 1992, in a Sioux City hospital, after being stricken at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.1n. Thursday at the Imrnanuel Lutheran Church, 315 Hamilton Blvd., Sioux City. Rev. Robert Vaage, associate pastor of First Lutheran will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron, with military graveside rites conducted by the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, Sioux City. A prayer service conducted by Rev. Bruce Zellmer, Chaplain at St. Luke's will be at 8 p.m. with family present from 7 to 9 p.m.

Pallbearers were Larry Henshaw, Charles Dorn, Lee Stansberry, Gary Ehlers, Harry Arens and Don Buhrman.

Mr. Buehre was born January 9, 1923, in Portland Township, Plymouth county, Iowa, the son of Herbert W. and Augusta R. (Popken) Buehre. He grew up on a farm in the Akron area and graduated from the Akron High School in 1942. He served in the U.S. army in Germany during World War II. He was a longtime Sioux City resident. He married Dolores T. Mercer, December 31, 1959, in South Sioux City, Neb. He operated Park Market Grocery Store for about ten years in the 1950's; then worked at Metz Baking Co. for about 12 years and Armour and Co. 8 1/2 years. He worked for Wells Fargo fulltime until 1985 and has continued working for them part-time since then. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran church in Sioux City, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Shull Post #580; and a life member of the Siouxland Senior Center.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores of Sioux City; one son, Douglas Buehre of Murray, Utah; two step-daughters and husbands, Judi and Charles Dorn and Cathi and Larry Henshaw of Sioux City; one brother, Eugene Buehre of Sioux City; a granddaughter, Jodi Dorn of Sioux City; a grandson, Todd Henshaw, stationed at Camp Pendleton, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his parents and twin daughters.
