David S. Pauling, 22, of Dallas, Texas, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, 1992 in Dallas.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron. Rev. William Flemr officiated. Jon Harris, soloist, sang "Amazing Grace" and "How Great Thou Art", accompanied by organist, Carol Harris.
The congregation sang "A Mighty Fortress". Burial was in Riverside cemetery, under direction of Schroeder funeral home in Akron.
Pallbearers were John Philips, Mark Philips, Sam Philips, Mark Schulz, Christopher Schulz, and Todd Schulz.
Mr. Pauling was born Dec. 31, 1969 in Dayton, Ohio, to Dennis and Sharon Dirks Pauling. He graduated from high school in Cincinnati, where he received the National Physics award, Ohio Scholar award and was a National Merit Scholar. He attended the University of California at Berkeley, Calif. While 'in California* he was employed by an attorney who represented the EEOC. He moved to Dallas in the summer of 1991, and currently a computer operator for NCNB Bank in Dallas.
Survivors include his parents, Dennis and Sharon (Dirks) Pauling of Piano, Texas; two sisters, Kristen Pauling of Bloomington, Ind., and Jennifer Pauling of Piano; his paternal grandparents, Lynford and Helen Pauling of Paullina and maternal grandparents, Walter and Roberta Dirks of Akron; and great-grandmother, Mabel Smith of Paullina; and uncles and cousins.
