Cleo E. Hoffman, 70, Le Mars, died unexpectedly Monday (Sept. 1, 1986) at Floyd Valley hospital, Le Mars after being stricken at his home.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 4 at St. Joseph Catholic church in Le Mars. Rev. Dale George will officiate. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery in Le Mars under direction of the Luedtke-Feuerstein funeral home,
Le Mars.Mr. Hoffman was born Oct. 16, 1915, to Delbert and Mary Faust Hoffman at rural Akron. He was a life-long Plymouth county resident. He married Viola Singer, Oct. 24, 1936 at Le Mars. The couple made their home in Le Mars. He worked as a mechanic for many years.
After his retirement in 1978 he worked part-time as a truck driver for Plymouth county.
Mr. Hoffman was a member of St. Joseph Catholic church in Le Mars.
Survivors are his wife, Viola; three daughters, Mrs. Bill (Elizabeth) Howard of Pocahontas, Mo., Mrs. Anthony (Lois) Schumacher of Bettendorf, and Mrs. James (Patricia) Hansen of Le Mars; five sons, James of Craig, Larry of Le Mars, Lowell and Keith, both of Anaheim, Calif., and Kenneth of Fullerton, Calif.; a brother, Maynard of Fullerton, Calif.; four sisters, Mrs. Vernon (Winifred) Morehead, Mrs. LeRoy (Rosalie) Welter, Mrs. Ralph (Margaret) Heyl, and Mrs. Joseph (Neva) Lewis, all of Le Mars; 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Delbert, Bernard, John, Charles, James and Edward.
