Doris Elaine Campbell, 71, of
Akron died Sunday, Dec. 11,
1994, at the Akron Care Center
after a brief illness.

Services were held Wednesday
at Wesley United Methodist
Church in Akron with the Rev.
Donald Greenough officiating.

John Harris, soloist, sang
"Morning Has Broken" and
"He LeadethMe," accompanied
by CarolHarris, organist.
"How Great Thou Art" was
sung by the congregation.

Burial was in Riverside
Cemetery, under direction of
Schroeder Funeral Home.

Casketbearers were Curtis
Dorhout, John Madsen, Matthew
Madsen, Brent James, Jim
James, Heath Harris, Jamey
Dickson and Justin Dickson.

Mrs. Campbell was born April
29, 1923, near Akron in Union
County, S.D., the daughter of
John L. and Frances (Farwell)
Smith. She graduated from
Akron High School in 1940. She
married Harold Campbell Oct.
17, 1942, in Dakota City. The
couple made their home in
Sioux City until 1944, when
they moved to Akron. She
answered the phone for Campbell
Trucking Co. for many
years. Mr. Campbell died Dec.
7, 1982. She moved to the
Akron Care Center two weeks
ago.

Mrs. Campbell was a member
of the Birthday Club of Akron.

Survivors include five daughters
and their husbands, Judy
and George Dorhout of Sioux
Center, Shirlene and Larry
Madsen of Ulysses, Kan., Mary
Lou and Forrest James of
Akron, Pat and Roger Harris of
Homer, Neb., and Mavis and
Doug Dickson of Sioux City; a
brother, Eldon Smith of Akron;
two sisters. Verda Bullis of Elk
Point, S.D., and Marjorie Beaubien
of Sioux City; 14 grandchildren
and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by
her parents and a brother,
Wilford Smith.
