OLD RESIDENT DIES
DAY OF HIS BIRTHWM. HEEREN SUCCUMBS AFTER
LIVING HALF CENTURY IN
PLYMOUTH COUNTYWilliam. Heeren, an old and respected
pioneer of Plymouth county died
at his home In Grant township last
Tuesday at the age of just 79 years.He was born at Wiesederfehrn, Ostfriesia,
Germany, on July 12, 1848.He came to the United States in 1866
and settled in Illinois.In 1874 he visited his fatherland
and found a bride. They were married
June 20, 1874. Three years
ago they celebrated their golden wedding
anniversary.More than fifty years ago Mr. Heeren
and family came to Plymouth
County, where they have numerous
friends to mourn his demise.The deceased leaves his widow' and
a large family of sons and daughter.They are:
Mrs. Eilert Wilken of, Chatsworth,
la., John Heeren of Grant township,
William Heeren of Sioux City, Mrs.
H. C. Baak of Carthage, S. D., Herman
Heeren of Grant township, Mrs.
Oscar Onken of Morrison, Ill., Mrs.
H. W. Gorath of Argonne, S. D., Albert
Heeren and Harms Heeren of
Grant township, and Mrs. C. McManus
of Carthage, S. D. There are also
44 grandchildren and eight great
grandchildren, as well as two brothers,
who live in Le Mars.The funeral will be held next Friday
afternoon from the Lutheran
church in Grant township. Rev. Meyer
will officiate. All of the children
