David V. Dewey, 42, of Westfield, Iowa, died suddenly following a long illness Saturday (Nov. 24, 1990) at a Sioux City hospital.
Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Nov. 27 at the Westfield Congregational Church. Rev. Martin Healy officiated.

Shirley Banks, vocalist, sang "How Great Thou Art" and "Beyond The Sunset", accompanied by pianist, Arlene Morehead. Interment was in Riverside cemetery, ''Akron, under direction of Schroeder Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Paul Johnson, Randy Johnson, Kenny Johnson, Clifford Johnson, Richard Dewey, and Jerry Dewey.

Mr. Dewey was born January 2, 1948, at Akron, Iowa, the son of Gene L. and Leone (Johnson) Dewey. He attended school in Westfield and Sioux City, graduating from East High School in Sioux City in 1967. He was a meat cutter for national food firms. He worked eight years for Floyd Valley Packing and four years for Alcester (S.D.) Meats. He also worked for Higman Sand and Gravel Co. at Akron.

Survivors include his mother, Leone of Westfield; a sister and brother-in-law, lone and Jack Upton of Orange City, Iowa; a brother, Chuck of Westfield; and his paternal
grandmother, Amelia Dewey of Akron.

He was preceded in death by his father, Gene; paternal grandfather, Lester Dewey, and maternal grandparents.
