Halweg

Harry Halweg, 83, of Merrill, died Tuesday (July 10,1979) in a hospital at Soux Falls, S.D. of brief illness.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul Lutheran church, rural Merrill. Rev. Robert Salge will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside cemetery at Merrill under direction of the Mauer funeral home of Le Mars.

Mr. Halweg was born Jan. 16,1896, at Cresco, Iowa. He came to Plymouth county as a boy in 1904. He served in the United States army during world war 1.

He married Julia Susemihl at Merrill The couple farmed. She died in 1942.

He was a member of the Little Sioux Olson Halweg post American Legion.

Survivors are three brothers, Louis and Carl, both of Sioux City and Dowie of Bakersfield, Calif.
