PIONEER DIES
Philip Boever of LeMars—Father of Martin Boever of Alton Passes OnPhilip Boever, one of Plymouth County’s pioneer residents, died about 3 o’clock this afternoon at his residence, 707 Fulton street, after a prolonged siege of illness. No funeral arrangements have as yet been made.
Deceased was born in Luxemburg, Feb. 20, 1850. He grew to manhood in his native country and attended school there. He came to the United States in 1869, and located near Aurora, Ill., where he engaged in farming for several years, and was there united in marriage with Miss Catherine Wengler, a native of Aurora.
In 1878 Philip Boever located in Elgin township, near Struble, and continued to farm this land until 1910, when he moved to LeMars.
Deceased is survived by his wife and children: Catherine Boever, living at home; Martin M. Boever, Alton; Mary Boever, at home; Mrs. Mathew Helbach, LeMars; John Boever, Struble; Lena Boever, LeMars; Philip Jacob Boever, Merrill; Mrs. John J. Schmidt, Granville. –LeMars Globe-Post.
