LeMars Globe Post, LeMars, Plymouth, Iowa, June 6, 1960

Mrs. Minnie Johanna Halweg passed away June 2, 1960 at the Leeds Nursing Home, Sioux City, after a sickness which lasted several years. She was 96 years old. Minnie J. Kadolph was born November 5, 1863 in Germany and came to the United States and Eldora, Iowa in 1869. She moved to a farm near Cresco, Iowa, later moving to a farm near Merrill until her husband passed away in 1934.

She was married to John C. Halweg on March 29, 1887, at Eldora, Iowa. Her parents were the late August Kadolph and Louise C. Pahlow Kadolph.

Funeral services were held at St Paul Lutheran Church, Johnson township, near Merrill at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 4. Burial was in Johnson township, Lutheran cemetery. Rev. Cyril Jandry officiated at the last rites. Maurer's Funeral home in LeMars was in charge of arrangements .

Survivors include 5 sons: Harry Halweg, Merrill: Louis Halweg: Le Mars: Carl Halweg, Sioux City: Herman Halweg, Le Mars: and Dowie Halweg, California. A Sister Mrs. Mathilda Granow , Eldora: 18 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1934: a daughter, Louise: 5 sons: William, John, Leo, Edwin and George
