EMERSON, Neb. Dowie August Halweg, ,88, of Emerson died Friday, April 9, 1993, at Heritage of Emerson

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Sioux City with the Rev Kenneth Kramer officiating. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. Thursday, with the family present 7·8 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson-Funeral Home in LeMars, Iowa.

Mr. Halweg was born July 6, 1904, in Hull, Iowa the son of John C and Minnie (Kadolph) Halweg, He married Geneva E Tozier Oct 17, 1928 in Sioux City, Leeds area. He was a retired farmer and livestock buyer. He moved to the Emerson area in 1991 and prior to that he had lived in Akron, Le Mars and California.

Survivors include two sons and their wives, La Mont and Janice of Omaha and Gerald and Judy of Thousands Oaks, Calif; a daughter, Linda and her husband Donald Binkley of Waterbury, Neb: 11grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a brother, Carl Halweg. and his wife Esther of Sioux City

He preceded by his wife, three daughters, two grandchildren, a great-grandchild; eight brothers and a sister.
