STRUBLE, Iowa -- Terry Vander Molen, 47, of Struble died Monday, May 5, 2003, at his residence near Struble.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Remsen, Iowa, with the Rev. Timothy Johnson officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisch Funeral Home in Remsen.
Mr. Vander Molen was born Nov. 6, 1955, in Le Mars, Iowa, the son of John and Mary (Schilmoeller) Vander Molen. He was raised and educated in the Struble and Maurice, Iowa, area, until moving near Remsen with his parents and brothers in 1970. He attended Remsen Union School, graduating in 1974.
He was then engaged in farming and lived with his family in Orange City, Iowa, then in the Remsen and Kingsley, Iowa, area. For the past four years he farmed near Struble. He also specialized in tree trimming and firewood sales.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Struble. He enjoyed hunting, horseback riding and had a love for the outdoors.
Survivors include two sons, Ryan of Sioux City, and Nathan of Ames, Iowa; his best friend, Deborah Feldman of Struble; his parents, John and Mary Vander Molen of Remsen; four brothers, Kenneth and his wife, Lori, of Orange City, Douglas of Sioux Falls, S.D., Mark and his wife, Mary, of Sergeant Bluff, and Todd of Remsen; a sister, Jodi Vander Molen of Madison, Wis.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Bradley; maternal grandparents, Alphonse and Helen Schilmoeller; and paternal grandparents, Louis and Agnes Vander Molen.
