Phyllis Pulscher, 85, of Akron, Iowa passed away Saturday, June 13, 2009 at Morningside Manor in Alcester, South Dakota.
Funeral Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at Carlsen Funeral Home – Schroeder Chapel in Akron. Reverend Jean Morse of Trinity Lutheran Church in Akron will officiate. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery in Akron. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until service Wednesday at the funeral home.
Phyllis Theodora Pulscher was born May 11, 1924 in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Otto and Marie (Anderson) Pulscher. Early in her childhood, she moved with her family near Hawarden, Iowa. She attended school in Hawarden and graduated from Hawarden High School in 1944.
Following her schooling, Phyllis was a caregiver for the elderly and for the Kelly family in Hawarden for many years. In 1991, she moved to Akron.
Phyllis enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading, and gardening. She loved her dog, “Pebbles”. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include three brothers: Harold Pulscher of Sioux City, IA, Herbert Pulscher of Colorado Springs, CO, and Francis Pulscher and his wife Marilyn of Sheldon, IA; a special nephew: Bill Watkins of Akron, IA; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: Clarence, Alfred, Gilbert, Merlin, and Clifford; and a sister: Kathryn Watkins.
