LE MARS, Iowa -- Katie Rohmiller, 24, of Le Mars died suddenly Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005, from injuries suffered in an auto accident near Sioux City.

Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Le Mars, with the Rev. Dan Greving officiating. Burial of the ashes will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today, with a parish rosary at 4 p.m., the family present after 6 p.m. and a Scriptural wake service at 7 p.m., at Carlsen Funeral Home in Le Mars. Visitation will resume 9:30 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Katie Marie Rohmiller was born April 10, 1981, in Sioux City, to Clayton and Laura (Bremer) Rohmiller. She was baptized in the Catholic faith. She attended Kissinger Elementary School in Merrill, Iowa. She graduated from Le Mars Community High School in 1999. In high school, she enjoyed participating in tennis, volleyball and debate. Following high school, she attended classes at Normandale Community College in Bloomington, Minn., and Western Iowa Tech Community College in Sioux City. While attending school, she had also worked at Applebee's in Bloomington and Sioux City.

Her greatest joy in life was caring for her daughter, Bailey. She also enjoyed shopping, bowling, dancing and music. She enjoyed attending family gatherings in Le Mars. She will be remembered for her optimistic attitude, loving smile and her willingness to help others.

She is survived by her daughter, Bailey Hart; her parents, Clayton Rohmiller of Merrill and Laura and her husband, Perry Nelson of Remsen, Iowa; paternal grandfather, Joe Rohmiller of Le Mars; maternal grandmother, Pat Denney of Le Mars; maternal grandfather, Herman Bremer of Le Mars; two sisters, Kelli Rohmiller of Minneapolis and Kimberli Rohmiller of Le Mars; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Louise Rohmiller; and an uncle, Robert Rohmiller.

Honorary pallbearers will be Adam Schoenherr, Amanda Schoenherr, Travis Weed, Shawn Weed, Shannon Weed, Chad Plueger, Erin Plueger, Anna Rohmiller, Dory Rohmiller and Sara Rohmiller.
