Barbara J. Roth, 87, of Lee's Summit, Mo., formerly of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2004, at a medical facility in Lakewood, Mo.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery, Sioux City, with the Rev. Bruce Jackson of Bethel Lutheran Church in Lawton, Iowa, officiating. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are under the direction of Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City.

Mrs. Roth was born May 21, 1916, in Le Mars, Iowa, the daughter of Harry and Alberta (Gilespie) Farnsworth. She was raised in Sheldon, Iowa.

She married Doyle R. Roth on Nov. 7, 1936. The couple moved to Sioux City in 1948. They lived in Sioux City until 1970, when they moved to California. He preceded her in death. Declining health in the last several years made her moved to Lee's Summit to be near her daughter.

Survivors include three daughters, Gayle Miille of Sioux City, Lynn Irwin of Bella Vista, Ark., and Susan Roth of Lee's Summit; two sons, Frank Roth of Bella Vista, Ark., and Bob Roth of Redlands, Calif.; a brother, Dale Farnsworth of Yoakum, Texas; a stepsister, Maxine Berndt of Palm Desert, Calif.; a stepbrother, Gordon Bunker of Santa Rosa, Calif.; 15 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded her parents; her husband; a brother, Keith Farnsworth; a sister, Joan Hoover; and a granddaughter, BeckIrwin Ford.
