JOHN E. SCHUCHARD
John E. Schuchard, 59, of Akron, was dead on arrival at an Akron hospital Saturday (June 14, 1986) of an apparent heart attack.
Funeral was at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Lutheran Church at Akron with Rev. Bernard Nelson officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery at Akron with graveside services conducted by Hoschler Post 186 American Legion of Akron. Visitation was from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at Schroeder Funeral Home with the family present from 7 p.m.
Mr. Schuchard was born Oct. 5, 1926, at Altura, Minn., to John C. and Martha Schuchard. He graduated from Remsen High School. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He married Delores Anderson on June 8, 1947, in Akron, and they made their home in California. They returned to Akron in 1950. He had managed the Council Oak Store in Akron for many years. He owned and operated Johnnie’s Market until 1964 when he went to work for Jack and Jill Grocery Store in Hawarden. The last few years he worked for G.W. Market in Akron.
Survivors are his wife; three sons, Lonnie of Sioux City, Craig of Egan, Minn., and Hal of Akron; two sisters, Loranda Lang of Eugene, Ore., and Lavonne Kelley of Remsen; five half-sisters, Helen Lyons of Tacoma, Wash., Violet and Margaret Miller, both of Bakersfield, Calif., Erma Hurlbut of Bremerton, Wash., and Ellen Krunz of Chicago, Ill.; one half-brother, Raymond Hoeper of Bakersfield; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and two half-brothers, William and Arnold.
