LE MARS, Iowa - Ella Kuehn, 82, of Le Mars died Friday, May 22, 1998, at Plymouth Manor Care Center in Le Mars.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in rural Merrill, Iowa with the Rev. Dick Steffen officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Kuehn was born March 24, 1916, on the family farm near Hawarden, Iowa, the daughter of Henry and Mary (Prull) Lubben. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Le Mars. She attended country school near her home in Sioux County. She married Wesley Kuehn Dec. 27, 1939, in Le Mars. The couple farmed west of Le Mars for many years. He died in March, 1982. She moved to Le Mars in 1983 and had been a resident of the Plymouth Manor Care Center for the last month.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, W.E.L.C.A., and the Plymouth Manor Promoters. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, fishing, traveling and wintering in Arizona.

Survivors include her son and his wife, Arlan and Jean Kuehn of Eden Prairie, Minn.; a daughter and her husband, Carol and Richard Ribar, of Arvada, Colo.; two sisters, Esther Lubben of Le Mars, and Irene Jerman of Denver, Colo.; four grandchildren, Katherine Ribar, Michael Ribar, David Kuehn, and Daniel Kuehn; five great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, Elmer and his wife, Lorene Kuehn, and Frank Kuehn, all of Le Mars; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Bernard and Harold Lubben; and a sister-in-law, Doris Lubben.
