SIOUX CITY – Helen M. Kaiser, 85, of Sioux City, died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2000, at Indian Hills Nursing and Rehab Center in Sioux City following a lengthy illness.
Mrs. Kaiser was born Jan. 11, 1915, at Bronson, the daughter of Gus and Hazel Maude Law Johnson. She was raised in the Bronson area. On Sept. 26, 1940, she married Harold Kaiser at Sioux City. Following their marriage, the couple farmed in the Merrill area until their retirement in 1985, when they moved into Sioux City.
Helen was a homemaker.
She was a member of Morningside Assembly of God Church in Sioux City. She taught Sunday school for many years, was a Koininia Prayer Group leader, a nursery care coordinator and a Prims Sponsor. She was also a member of the TOPS Club of Le Mars.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Gerald Kaiser and his wife, Darlene, of Denver, Colo., and Dennis Kaiser of Phoenix, Ariz.; one daughter, Vina Holloway of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, Angela Johnson, Tammra Anderson, Tova Holloway and Sevan Holloway; four great-grandchildren, Kodiak Johnson, Dalton Johnson, Andrew Anderson and Tanisha Anderson; and two sisters, Esther Bakker of Corona, Calif., and Ethel Hansen of Sioux City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son Roland Kaiser; and two brothers, Harold Johnson and Kenneth Johnson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Morningside Assembly of God Church in Sioux City with the Rev. Thomas M. Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Le Mars Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be today (Thursday) from 4 to 8:30 p.m. at the Christy-Smith Morningside Chapel in Sioux City.
