Sophia Ahlrichs, 79, Dies at Her Home, Lived Here 42 Years

Mrs. Sophia A. Ahlrichs, 79, died Tuesday, Aug. 25, at her home at 515 Seventh St. S. W. after a month’s illness.

Sophia Bohlken was born Mar. 6, 1874 in Preston township, Plymouth county. Her marriage to Edward Ahlrichs took place there Aug. 28, 1896. She later lived in Minnesota and moved to Le Mars in 1911.

She is survived by two daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. Anna Delaney of Le Mars, Mrs. A. C. (Ida) Grau of Hialeah, Fla., Alfred of Phoenix, Ariz., and Wilbur of Le Mars.
Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Annie Gabel of Le Mars and Mrs. L. A. (Lydia) Salberg of Long Beach, Calif., and two brothers, Albert Bohlken of Lisbon. N. D., and George Bohlken of Hendricks, Minn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a-son and daughter, six brothers and three sisters.

The body was taken to Mauer’s funeral home and burial will be in the city cemetery. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Methodist church, Rev. H. V. Bartz officiating.
