LE MARS, IOWA -- Lyma Lambert, 104, of Le Mars died Monday, Nov. 11, 2002 at the Akron City Convalescent Care Center, Akron, Iowa.

Services will be 10:30 Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church in Akron, with the Rev. Laurice Streyffeler officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Akron. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m., and a prayer service at 7 p.m., all at Schroeder Funeral Home in Akron.

Lyma Lambert was born Sept. 8, 1898 in Wisconsin, the daughter of George and Maggie (Card) Harkness.

She married John H. Lambert, Sr. on Feb. 10, 1916 in Whitecreek, Wis. Mr. Lambert preceded her in death in July of 1964. They farmed in South Dakota as well as Akron and Brunsville, Iowa. After retiring from the farm, they moved into Akron.

Mrs. Lambert was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church for over 50 years. In her free time, she loved embroidery and crocheting.

Survivors include a daughter, Amelia Thompson and her husband, Earl, of Akron, eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 26 great great-grandchildren; three sons, Robert Lambert, Sr. and his wife, Viola, of Merrill, Iowa, a grandson and a great-granddaughter; Ralph Lambert and his wife, Virginia, of Le Mars, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and John Lambert Jr. and his wife, Betty, also of Le Mars, three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Lambert was preceded in death by a son, William; a daughter, Rose; a son-in-law, Jack Henrich; one granddaughter, Kay Schoenfelder; three sisters; and one brother.
