Walter Lakehouse Jr.

WINNEBAGO, Neb. -- Walter Lakehouse Jr., 74, of Winnebago died Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2003, at Winnebago Hospital following a lengthy illness.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Augustine's Catholic Church in Winnebago, with the Rev. Tom Gall officiating. Burial will be in St. Augustine's Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin today and continue until service time Friday, with a wake service at 4 p.m. today, in the church basement. Arrangements are under the direction of Winnebago Wake and Burial Program.

Mr. Lakehouse was born March 28, 1928, in Winnebago. He graduated from Winnebago Public School and Little Priest Indian College in Winnebago. He was a lifelong resident of Winnebago.

He married June Kelsey on Aug. 18, 1982, in Le Mars, Iowa. He was employed with the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska.

He was a member of St. Augustine's Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, June Kelsey of Winnebago; a sister, Marcaline Gilbertson of Wisconsin; a brother, Howard Walker of Wisconsin; two daughters, Linda Trujillo of New Mexico, and Rita Lakehouse of Wisconsin; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents and a sister.

Pallbearers will be Robert Armell, Mitch Armell, Clayton DeCora, Christine St. Cyr, Randy DeCora and Matt Corbiere.
