MRS. ELSIE WATERBURY

Mrs. Elsie Waterbury, 92, Davenport, a former LeMars resident, died April 5, 1982, at Bettendorf Health Care Center after an extended illness.

She lived the last 2 ½ years at the care center. Mrs. Waterbury moved to Davenport to be with two sisters.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at First Baptist Church in LeMars with Rev. Robert Hanthorn officiating.

Lunch will be served at the church after the service, the family said. The body will then be taken to Riverside Cemetery at Akron for burial at 3 p.m. under the direction of the Johnson-Luken funeral home, LeMars. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

Elsie Swift, the daughter of Charles and Agnes Snyder Swift, was born Nov. 15, 1889, at Razana, Mo. She moved from Missouri to the Dakota Territory as a child and later lived at Akron, Sioux City and Sioux Falls. She came to LeMars in 1965 and left here in 1976. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in LeMars.

She married Walter L. (Roy) Waterbury at Fairfax, S.D., March 10, 1909. He died in 1968.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Harold, in 1930, and three brothers.

Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Goldie Dykes and Mrs. Arthur (Pearl) Kensora, both of Davenport; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Omer (Frances) Ritchie of LeMars, and many nieces and nephews.
