Etta Sorgdrager, Cenenarian Funeral Tuesday

Etta E Sordrager 1890-1988
Etta E. Sorgdrager, 97 of Craig, died Saturday
(April 16, 1988) at Brentwood Good Samaritan
in Le Mars.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church in Le mars with Rev. Robert Robinson officiating Burial will be in Memorial Cemetery in Le Mars.

Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m. in Mauer- Johnson Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sorgdrager, the former Etta E. Van Steenwyk, was born July 11, 1890, at Orange City to Arnold Van Steenwyk and and Ella (VerHoef) Van Steenwyk. She married James Sorgdrager September 29, 1914, at Ponca, Nebraska. The couple farmed in Plymouth County until their retirement. He died in 1956.

Mrs. Sorgdrager was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Survivors are three sons, Warren of Ireton, James of Sioux City and Earl of Merrill; a daughter Mrs Joe (Charlotte) De Young of Craig; 19 grandchildren and 45 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Kenneth; two sisters and five brothers.
