LE MARS, Iowa -- Raymond L. Mohrhauser, 73, of Le Mars died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at Floyd Valley Hospital in Le Mars.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. James Catholic Church in Le Mars, with Monsignor Gerald Lyon officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Le Mars. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today, with the family present 6 to 8 p.m. and a Scriptural prayer service at 7 p.m., at Mauer-Johnson Funeral Home in Le Mars.

Raymond Lewis Mohrhauser was born March 31, 1928, in Danbury, Iowa, the son of George and Lena Mohrhauser.

He married Jean Bohlke on Dec. 12, 1969, in Elk Point, S.D. The couple made their home in Le Mars. Ray owned and operated Mohrhauser Construction for 35 years. He retired in 2000. During his retirement, Ray drove a bus for Siouxland Regional Transit. He enjoyed the friendships he developed with his clients. Ray's family will remember him as a wonderful husband, father and grandfather and cherish his sense of humor. He always enjoyed playing with the grandchildren. Ray also enjoyed watching college sports, especially Iowa University and Iowa State University basketball.

Ray will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jean of Le Mars; a son and his wife, Jeff and Rene and their children, Katie and Sam of Sioux City; a daughter, Teresa and her significant other, Larry Luschen and their children, Angie Neal and Peter Luschen of Merrill, Iowa, and Holly Luschen and Heidi Hester of Oklahoma City, Okla.; a son and his wife, Coby and Rhonda and their sons, Tyler and Trevor of Orange City, Iowa; sisters, Ann Pithan and Maggie Pollock; and brothers, Barney and Richard Mohrhauser.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Jennie Shell and Bernadine Conner; and brothers, George, Ollie, Alfred, Emmet and Charlie Mohrhauser.
