MRS. ELLEN KITTERMAN

Mrs. Ellen Kitterman, 77, of Kingsley, died Monday (Jan. 11, 1988) at her residence of an apparent heart attack.

Funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Kingsley United Methodist Church with Rev. John Crosswhite officiating. Burial will be in the Kingsley Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon Wednesday with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. in Dickinson-Michaelson Funeral Home at Kingsley.

Mrs. Kitterman, the former Ellen Mary Curley, was born July 12, 1910, at Kingsley to Frank Curley and Maude Gates Curley. She graduated from Kingsley High School and attended Morningside College. She married Avery Thomson Jan. 25, 1930, at Kingsley area. They couple farmed in the Kingsley area until moving to town in 1942. He died Nov. 29, 1963.

She married Elmer Kitterman June 17, 1967, at Kingsley. He died May 15, 1972.

Mrs. Kitterman was a member of Kingsley United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a 50-year member and Past Matron of Order of Eastern Star Garfield Chapter 171 and a former 4-H leader.

Survivors are a son, Max Thomson of Kingsley; a daughter, Mrs. James (Mary Ellen) Groves of Wellsville, N.Y.; a stepson, Ralph Kitterman, of Tucson, Ariz.; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Ben (Dorothy) Ward of Tucson; a sister, Mrs. Norma Hummel of Cushing; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a brother and a sister.
